life drawing f '11 | gesture



Elsa could not make it to the last class. I've posted these four drawings. The gestures are very effective, while handled differently. The top shows a muscular form, while the second and third capture the weight of the model with varying contour lines. (Usually, I would say to use the tip of the charcoal, yet here the variety is exciting.)






Notice below how the face is drawn like an egg, with a center line down the middle, and an intersecting line for the eyes. She carried it through as an inner line through the torso and down the leg.





And make sure not to shrink the lower legs. Remember: they have to hold her up!
