sketching ideas l drawing f'12

Have trouble with a concept? Let go of it and doodle. Try a variety of mediums. Toss in some objects, both drawn and pasted, and stir it all up. As Alan Pipes writes in Drawing for Designers, “the concept stage in the design cycle is where the designer can have the most fun, sketching out the wildest ideas before having to think of practicalities.”  Where the designer ultimately pulls in the reins for a client, the artist propels forward, testing the infinite possibilities for him or herself.
